Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress who is best famous for her role in Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. She first began her career as an actress in the 1980s. She became famous for the movie Tezaab with veteran actor Anil Kooor. Her next role was in Dil in which she starred alongside Aamir. Early on, as a teenager in Mumbai's middle class she started to dance. When she was a teen she started acting, and suffered for several years as the majority of her films at first were unsuccessful. Then she found her way to success and she was one of the top actresses in the Indian film industry. Following her wedding ceremony, she took a short absence from acting until she returned. In recent times, she was in an important performance as a character in Gulaab Gang. The film focused on the struggles of women in India. Dixit has been nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she was awarded eight. Padma Shri - the fourth most prestigious civilian award of India - was given to Dixit. She has also been recognized for her work in the field of social work.
