Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. When she was a kid, she went to at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was aspired to be a professional actress from the age of aged six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy with part-time courses. By the time she turned 10 years old, Emma took part in many Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions, she and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first film on the screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. The film set records on the opening weekend and numbers, and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. The film was praised by critics who praised the film and particularly those who were young. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her exceptional performance. Emma received five nominations for her exceptional performance.
